About Taxidermy in Action with Sarah Burhouse

Join professional bird taxidermist Sarah Burhouse for a unique live demonstration exploring the traditional craft of bird taxidermy, where you can see a specimen brought together and carefully shaped into a finished mount.

Learn how prepared bird skins are transformed into lifelike specimens. The demonstration will explore the different stages involved, from preparing and assembling the specimen to carefully positioning it and creating its final form.

The process will be explained as it happens, giving you a chance to see the craft up close and understand the care and skills involved. There will also be opportunities to ask questions throughout the demonstration. The bird skin used will have been processed and cleaned before the event.

All birds used during the demonstration are ethically sourced.

Whether you are interested in birds, natural history, traditional crafts or simply curious to see how taxidermy is done, this is an opportunity to discover something new and see a fascinating craft in action.
