Frequently Asked Questions about MiniBrum Parties

Is there minimum number of children I need to have for my party?

The minimum number of children for a birthday party is 10. If your numbers fall below this, you will still need to pay for this minimum number.

Is there maximum number of children I can have at my party?

The maximum party size is 40 (including adults and children – this is the maximum capacity of The Den).

Is there a charge for children under 3 years of age?

There is no charge for children under 3 years of age, but these children will not be allocated a party meal.

How long does the party last for?

Your party will last for two hours. The first part will be in MiniBrum, followed by the party meal and party games (if there is enough time) in the Den. Example itineraries are below.

10.15am - 12.30pm party:

10.15am - Arrive at Thinktank Group Entrance – Meet and greet by Party Host
10.30am - Playtime in MiniBrum
11.50am - Party Meal and party games (time permitting)
12.30pm - Party ends

2.15pm - 4.30pm party:

2.15pm - Arrive at Thinktank Group Entrance – Meet and greet by Party Host
2.30pm - Playtime in MiniBrum
3.50pm - Party Meal and party games (time permitting)
3.30pm - Party ends

What are the party games?

Traditional Party games such as musical bumps, musical chairs etc.

Can I bring extra adults to the party?

You can have an equal number of adults to children, for example if you have 10 children in your party, you can have 10 adults and entry to MiniBrum for these adults is free. Any adults above this are charged £7 per adult.

Can adults bring other children with them?

Yes they can, but standard Thinktank entry fee will be charged.

Can we stay in Thinktank after the party?

Yes, for a reduced fee of £4.50 for children and £6.00 for adults, you can explore the rest of the museum.

Is there food and drink available for the adults?

Yes, you can pre-order platters of sandwiches (6 sandwiched triangles) for £6.00 per person and flasks of tea or coffee for £19.50 per flask (10-12 servings).

Can I bring extra food?

You are permitted to bring a Birthday cake, but NO other food.

Will the room be decorated?

The Den will be decorated with paper decorations, bunting flags, and Happy Birthday banners.

Can I bring my own decorations?

Yes, but you are not permitted to put anything on the walls.

Can I bring my own music?

Yes, we have a MP3 player that you can use.

Does the coffee cart in MiniBrum accept cash and cards?

The coffee cart only excepts card. Adults are allowed to go to the Signal Box café on Level 0 and bring drinks back up to the Party Room.

Does the party include a goody bag?

No, but we can provide party bag fillers for an additional charge of £4.50 per child and consists of three Thinktank themed items.

Birmingham Museums is a sustainable-minded business, so we encourage all visitors to bring their own bags.

Do you provide invitations?

Yes in PDF or Word format, download the invitations from the Birthday Party page.

Where do we arrive?

Please report to the Group Entrance on Level 2 (visit the floor plans page to help find the entrance). Once all your group have arrived, your Party Host will escort your group to MiniBrum.
