Step inside our Planetarium and join us for one of our planetarium shows.
We have several different shows running every weekday during the Birmingham Summer holidays (20 July - 31 August). The show schedule is shown below.
Planetarium shows cost £3.95 per person per show* (£3 for members), in addition to Thinktank's admission price.
Pre-booking available online as an add-on activity when you purchase your admission tickets.

3-2-1 Liftoff!
Alan is a hamster scientist who finds a robot which fell from the Earth’s orbit. Its spaceship is going to leave soon. Will Alan manage to get the robot back on its ship in time? This is an adventurous animated film about the courage and wits you need to have to get in space and back. (Trailer below)

Tonight's Sky
Presenter-led show looking in detail at the current night sky and topical events and news.
Show length: 25min, recommended for ages 5+
Show times: (Monday & Tuesdays* only) 12noon, 1.30pm

Seasonal Stars: Summer
A show about easy-to-see objects in this season's sky; includes how to find the North Star and how to find some of the seasonal constellations.
This includes the 10min show*: Neutron Stars — The Most Extreme Things that are not Black Holes
Discover what makes neutron stars some of the most extreme and fascinating objects in the universe.
Total show length 20min, suitable for all ages.

Sunstruck
Travel back to the beginning of time and experience the birth of the Sun. Discover how it came to support life, how it threatens life as we know it, and how its energy will one day fade away.
Show length 23min, suitable for all ages
Show time: 3pm
Ice Worlds
Explore how ice and water sustain life on Earth’s polar regions and beyond. Discover the vital connections between these icy ecosystems and our own survival, and learn how ice shapes other worlds in the Solar System.
Narrated by Academy Award nominated actress, Emily Watson. Produced in cooperation with the University of New Hampshire, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, with the support of the National Science Foundation.
