Step inside our Planetarium and join us for one of our planetarium shows.
We have several different shows running every weekday during the Birmingham Summer holidays (21 July - 29 August). The show schedule is shown below.
Planetarium shows cost £3.50 per person per show* (£3 for members), in addition to Thinktank's admission price.
Pre-booking available online as an add-on activity when you purchase your admission tickets.

3-2-1 Liftoff!
Alan is a hamster scientist who finds a robot which fell from the Earth’s orbit. His spaceship is going to leave soon. Will Alan manage to get the robot back on his ship in time? This is an adventurous animated film about the courage and wits you need to have to get in space and back. (Trailer below)

Written in the Stars
Discover a new way of appreciating the stars, as we recount how the ancient Chinese interpreted the night sky in this show created in collaboration with the Birmingham Chinese Community Centre, Hong Kong Space Museum, Macao Science Centre and Birmingham City University.
See beautiful original artwork by local Chinese artist Pak-Keung Wan and marvel at the most ancient celestial symbols known to humanity. Be transported to Dunhuang (China) to re-live the thrill of a dragon devouring the Sun during a total solar eclipse.

Apollo Journey to the Moon
Recount Apollo astronaut experiences from over 50 years ago in their own words as we explore the Apollo 15, 16, and 17 landing sites featuring interviews from Al Worden, Charlie Duke, and Harrison "Jack" Schmitt.

We are Aliens (subtitled)
Join scientists in the hunt for real aliens. Discover how robots are cleverly programmed to fly to alien worlds and land on their own. Will we ever encounter intelligent life in our galaxy? Are we perhaps alone in the Universe?
