Stitching Stories: What We Love About the Museum

Join us for a relaxed, creative session inspired by the beautiful tapestry work of artist Tina Francis. As we stitch together, we’ll be sharing and celebrating all the things we love about the museum, from favourite objects to special memories.Families are invited to take part in a simple, hands-on activity where children can draw or write their thoughts on leaf-shaped pieces of paper.

Come along, get involved, and help us create a collective artwork full of colour, stories, and imagination!

This event is part of What We Make Here, a six-week series of family-friendly workshops led by Birmingham-based artists, inviting participants of all ages to explore making, materials, and creative expression together.

Location : Industrial Gallery

About the artist

Tina Francis

Tina Francis is a Birmingham‑based tapestry, needlepoint, and textile artist whose practice centres on stitch as a tool for connection, care, and storytelling. Working primarily with wool and canvas, her work explores themes of time, labour, belonging, and creative health, often drawing attention to the value of traditionally overlooked “home crafts” as powerful contemporary art forms. "A needle is a true global citizen, I use it start conversations where a language is not shared"
