Museum of the Jewellery Quarter has been closed since 2020 and has undergone essential maintenance. We’re a work in progress but the Smith & Pepper Workshop is BACK, with discounted tickets.

Join us on Saturday 26 July as the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter opens its doors for one day only, for The Jewellery Quarter Festival.

During this special pop-up opening, you’ll get the rare chance to step inside the historic Smith & Pepper factory and explore the fascinating Story of the Jewellery Quarter gallery.

When the proprietors of the Smith & Pepper jewellery manufacturing firm retired in 1981, they simply ceased trading and locked the door, unaware they were leaving behind a perfectly preserved time capsule for future generations.

On the day, you’ll be able to explore this extraordinary space and discover what it was like to work there. You’ll also visit the Story of the Jewellery Quarter gallery, which tells the 200-year story of the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter, the heart of the British jewellery industry, and its rich tradition of craft skills.

We’ll be open from 10am to 4pm (please note the tearoom will not be open on this day).
