Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery Drop inAbout Make and Take your very own Joe Lycett inspired screen print
Join us for an informal, friendly drop-in workshop where you can make your very own Joe Lycett-inspired screen print to take away!
This workshop is part of the first major solo exhibition of paintings by Joe Lycett to open at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery in July 2026. EVERY THING MUST GO will explore the theme ‘things that are no longer with us’. Bold salon-style display will include deceased celebrities, discontinued chocolate bars, extinct animals and destroyed buildings. Lycett’s desired effect is to overwhelm and delight with a “neon graveyard”.
Facilitated by the Private Press, a contemporary screen printing studio, passionate about the endless possibilities of creative screen printing, specialising in printing fine art editions for artists, designers and illustrators. Creative Director and printmaker Gary Parselle set up the studio in 2013 and has since worked with leading international artists, including David Shrigley, Yoko Ono, Ai Wei Wei, and Jeremy Deller, and hosts popular screen printing workshops around the UK, such as at Glastonbury Festival and the Barbican.
