About Museum Collection Centre: Open Day

Join us for a fun-filled day at the Museum Collection Centre!

Explore and wander at your leisure, seeing a contrasting mix of objects, many of objects, many of which offer a real insight into life in Birmingham and the West Midlands over the centuries. Amongst the hundreds of thousands of objects, you will see steam engines, sculptures, giant spider crabs, even the kitchen sink.  If you are interested in something, you’ll find it at the Museum Collection Centre.

The behind-the-scenes atmosphere at the Museum Collection Centre makes it an intriguing place to explore and learn more about museum stores and the stories of objects.

We have refreshments available for purchase, and you are welcome to bring your own food to eat in our outdoor seating area, too.

Come and take part in a full day of family-friendly activities all while exploring our artefact-packed warehouse. Have a chance to take part in:

  • Meet the experts
  • See hidden objects unboxed
  • Family trails
  • Guided talks

There will be a FREE vintage bus service will run all day bringing guests to-and-from Birmingham city centre and the Museum Collection Centre.
