Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery is turning 140! 

Join us for a long weekend of celebrations - from live music to cake cutting, free family activities and behind-the-scenes tours, there’s something for everyone as we celebrate 140 years of Birmingham’s iconic Museum & Art Gallery (BMAG). 
 


Friday 28 November – our 140th Birthday

  • Live Music: Birmingham Royal Conservatoire  Trumpet Club - Enjoy a special 1pm performance celebrating our special day. Find out more about our Monthly Lunchtime Recitals here
  • Poetry on Demand with local Legend Bradly Taylor committing your Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery memories to paper
  • Live Printing demonstrations with Brum's own Stirchley Printworks to launch our limited edition 140th Birthday Print
  • Cake-Cutting Ceremony - Join us for a special birthday moment as we cut the cake to celebrate BMAG’s 140th year.

 

Friday 28 to Sunday 30 November - Free activities all weekend

  • Party Hat Trail - Spot the party hats hidden around the galleries and discover new BMAG favourites along the way!
  • Marvellous Makers  - Get creative and try our drop in creative workshops! We’ll be curating our own mini museums, and creating memory bunting to capture your favourite BMAG moments. Find out more about Marvellous Makers here.
  • My First Museum Taster Tour - A bitesized fun filled tour especially for little ones and their grown-ups – a perfect introduction to our museum highlights.
  • Hidden Spaces Taster Tours -Take a peek behind the scenes with bite-sized 15-minute tours of BMAG’s hidden spaces. Find out more about the wider Hidden Spaces programme here.
